Happy New Year and welcome back to Nursery!

This month we will be exploring the exciting topics of ‘Birds’ and ‘Winter’.

We look forward to learning more about the birds that visit our gardens and local area, through our play, community time learning and educational visitors coming in to Nursery. We will be making our very own binoculars and going on a short winter and bird walk to see what birds we can see and hear in our Nursery playground. We will also be learning about how we can look after birds.

As well as this, we will be providing opportunities for children to develop their knowledge, understanding and skills across the various areas of the Pre-School Curriculum.

Using our binoculars that we made at the art area to see birds flying up in the sky!

This month we will be exploring the very exciting topic of ‘People Who Help Us’!

We will be learning about people who help us at home, in school and in the local community, for example, teachers, doctors, dentists, police officers, hairdressers. We will be learning about these people who help us through our play, Community Time learning and hopefully through some special visitors in to Nursery.

We will also be exploring the final signs of Winter as we observe snowdrops and enjoy painting and drawing pictures of them in our art area.

This month we will be providing opportunities for the boys and girls to continue to develop their fine and gross motor skills, as well as their independence, by encouraging them to try and zip and unzip their own coats.

We will also be celebrating Valentines Day and Pancake Tuesday before our half term holidays.

We made yummy pancakes for pancake day today! They were delicious! 🥞
