🎄 December 🎄

We are so excited that we are now in the month of December!

We will be taking part in lots of festive activities this month; participating in the Daily Santa Mile, enjoying our special Christmas dinner, dressing up and singing in our Christmas performance, enjoying a festive visit from Jen and Jo Jingles and learning about the real meaning of Christmas!

We will be focusing on the shape, triangle, this month, as well as learning to name and recognise the festive colours of red, gold and silver!

What a busy day we had! First we visited Santa's Grotto then we had a festive visit from Jo Jingles and Jen.

Throughout this month we have enjoyed exploring the topics of ‘Christmas’ and ‘Winter’ through our play! We have had lots of fun dressing up as elves in the large construction area and working in Santa’s workshop building toys, making Christmas dinner in the roleplay kitchen, making festive red and sparkly play dough, mark making with glitter, building snowflakes with construction toys, dressing up in nativity costumes for our Nursery performance, making special Christmas cards and making magic reindeer food!

We are working hard to develop our fine motor skills!

We have been giving the children lots of opportunities to help develop their fine motor skills; in particular helping to strengthen the muscles in their hands and fingers, and helping to develop their hand eye coordination! We have enjoyed manipulating play dough; rolling, squeezing, pushing, pulling and stretching the dough with our fingers, threading beads on to laces, using tongs, tweezers and pegs, mark making with crayons, pencils, felt tips and markers and beginning to learn how to use scissors by cutting dough, snipping card and then cutting along a line on paper! The boys and girls are also working hard to zip and unzip their own coats!

We enjoyed our Christmas lunch in school today.

We enjoyed decorating our class Christmas tree 🎄
