Happy New Year!

This month in Nursery we will be exploring the exciting topic of Birds. We will be learning to identify common garden birds, as well as talk about their body parts and learn more about them; what they like to eat and where they live. We will also be learning more about how we can look after birds in our gardens.

We hope to have a visit from Oxford Island staff as part of our topic too! We will also be making our own binoculars and go bird watching around our school grounds!

This month we will be focusing on the colours, grey and white, and the shape, semi-circle! Can you find any objects of these colours or shape around your home or outside?

We have been making birds using play dough and adding feathers for wings, sticks for legs and googly eyes!

The boys and girls in Nursery 2 have been painting their own garden birds at the easel.

The Nursery children enjoying some indoor play this month.

The Nursery children enjoying some outdoor play! They really enjoy playing on the slide, using the large wooden blocks and developing their pedalling skills on the trikes!

We had a really interesting visit from Oxford Island today. We had great fun learning about birds and we were able to talk about what we know about birds. We then played a little game where we were pretending to be bird food and the birds were trying to catch us! It was great fun!

We have been enjoying making bird feeders for the birds in our Nursery outdoor area! We worked together to make them and hang them up outside. We can't wait to see the birds coming to eat these!

We made binoculars at the art table and used them to spot lots of birds around our school.
