February

This month we will be learning about People Who Help Us.

We have a wide range of visitors planned to help the children understand about the special jobs that people do in our community.  We are having visits from a paramedic, the Fire and Rescue Service, an optician, a Physiotherapist, a nurse and the Police (see photos in the Educational Visits section of our website).

The children will be learning about the colour pink and heart shape, as well as celebrating Shrove Tuesday and Valentine's Day.

We spotted lovely snowdrops growing in our Nursery garden! We painted and drew some in class!

Getting ready for Valentine's Day!

We enjoyed making pancakes on Pancake Tuesday! First, we weighed out the flour and sugar. We took it in turns to sieve the flour, and then mix the flour and sugar together in a big bowl. Then we added an egg and some buttermilk. We mixed all of these ingredients together. Next, Mrs Bartholomew whisked together all of the ingredients to make our pancake batter. Mrs Bartholomew and Ms McCreanor then cooked our pancakes in the electric frying pan. When the pancakes were ready we chose some toppings for them. They were delicious!

We are learning about keeping safe!

We have been learning about road safety and talking about keeping safe when in our cars and when crossing the road! We made zebra crossings using our fingerprints and traffic lights using different shaped paper, card and lollipop sticks!
