Painting our favourite birds!
We have created lots of bird art work during the month of February! This included, looking at and drawing a stuffed pheasant, drawing feathers and creating cardboard birds!
Bird Hunt! We took our binoculars and hunted for some birds around the school grounds! We spotted crows, blackbirds, seagulls, pigeons and birds nests in the trees! We had so much fun!
Making Binoculars! We made our very own binoculars using kitchen roll tubes. We painted them camouflage colours so we can stay hidden from the birds when we go on our bird walk around school!
Painting Winter Trees!
Junk Art! P1 had a brilliant time creating lots of junk art- they were very proud of their creations. Which included... a church, a birds nest and a castle! Can you spot them?
3D shapes! Some children brought in some 3D shapes from home to look at and discuss. We talked about each shape and sorted them into the groups: cube, cuboid, cylinder and sphere!
P1 looked at and ordered photographs of when we were 1,2,3,4 and 5 years of age! We ordered our pictures and discussed what we looked like in each photo as well as how we have changed! Then we walked around the classroom to look and discuss our friends photos! We had lots of fun sharing our pictures with eachother and discussing just how much we have changed since we were babies!
We had a FANTASTIC time celebrating Ben's birthday! We danced, played musical statues, games with balloons, ate a birthday party snack & hunted for treasure just like Ben & his friends did in our reading book, 'Here'! We had so much fun!
We designed our own party bags!
We made & decorated a giant birthday cake for Ben's 5th birthday!

We made invitations for Ben's birthday!
We had great fun reading our book called 'Look'. We pretended that we were shocked- just as Ben was when he was surpised by his friends & family!

We've had so much fun discussing and exploring Winter!
