May/June

After Easter we were introduced to our new topic of ‘Minibeasts’. We will continuing to explore this topic throughout May, as well as the short topic of ‘Teddy Bears’! We are looking forward to learning more about minibeasts; learning the names of the different types of minibeasts, as well as talk and learn about their features through our play and our community time learning.

In the month of June, we will be thinking and preparing for our transition to Primary 1. We will also be exploring the new season of Summer, thinking about holidays and hopefully enjoying lots of sunny weather!

We just love playing outside in the sun!

Northern Ireland does the Daily Mile!

We all enjoyed taking part in the daily mile along with the rest of the school! We walked, jogged and ran several times around the MUGA pitch! The daily mile is an important initiative to help support everyone’s mental health and physical fitness, both of which are very important! After taking part, we all enjoyed a lovely treat picnic in the sunshine!

Well done to all of the boys and girls for taking part!

We are all enjoying exploring the theme of ‘Teddy Bears’ this week!

We are enjoying talking about our favourite teddy bears to our friends, drawing and painting pictures of our teddy bears, cutting and sticking pictures of teddy bears, reading story books about teddy bears and having teddy bears picnics in our role play area!

We enjoyed playing the drums in Nursery to make some very loud music!

We enjoyed some sunny and dry weather this week!

We have been enjoying use claves in Nursery!

We have been learning how to use claves. We are learning to tap them together and keep a steady beat. We enjoyed tapping the claves up high, down low, to the left and to the right. We then enjoyed playing our claves along to the Grand Old Duke of York marching song and along to other music to try and keep a steady beat!

We made beautiful butterflies to create a butterfly garden display in our classroom!

We are learning about minibeasts through our play!

We are enjoying using playdough to make minibeasts!
