Our Mission Statement is to:-
Provide each child with a quality education which meets individual needs, within a safe, caring and stimulating environment and supported by highly committed and professional staff.
ETHOS
At King's Park Primary and Nursery School we promote a Christian Ethos where every child is valued, cared for and educated in a safe, inclusive and respectful environment. Every child is given the opportunity to reach their potential and become lifelong learners in partnership with the school, parents and local community.
‘CHILDREN FIRST’
As a school community King’s Park has always played a central role in the community of Lurgan and we pride ourselves in putting ‘Children First’.
OUR AIM
King’s Park Primary School aims to offer a curriculum which is balanced and broadly based and in so doing to provide a learning environment which will enable each child to develop his or her full potential academically, socially, emotionally, spiritually and physically in preparation for secondary level education and in turn to play a full and useful role in the community and society at large.
EDUCATION as ‘a process’
Education is seen in King’s Park as a ‘process’ and the young child ‘not as a vessel to be filled but rather as a lamp to be lighted’, for it is then that young minds are opened up and given the opportunity to develop to their full potential.
PARTNERSHIPS - ‘Pupils progress through Partnership’
Everyone involved with King’s Park is committed to working in partnership to offer all our children both quality and variety in their education. To this end we encourage parents to become involved in the education of their children. This can be done on a day-to-day basis by encouraging the child through reading, helping with homework or becoming involved in the Supporting King’s Park Group, to name but three. This critical partnership of child, teacher and parent, known as the ‘education triangle’, is central to our task at King’s Park. We encourage all parents to become actively involved in the life of the school and in so doing to enrich not only each child’s educational development but also that of the whole family
