Happy New Year and welcome back to Nursery!
Throughout the month of January we will be exploring the exciting topic of Birds in Nursery. We will be learning to identify common garden birds, as well as talk about their body parts and learn more about them; what they like to eat and where they live. We will also be learning more about how we can look after birds in our gardens. We hope to have a visit from Oxford Island staff as part of our topic too! We will also be making our own binoculars and going bird watching around our school grounds!
We will also continue to explore the season of Winter through our play indoors and outdoors and our Community Time learning! We will put on our winter clothes to play outside each day. We will be trying hard to put on and take off our own coats independently and make attempts to zip and unzip our coats each day.
This month we will be focusing on the colours, grey and white, and the shape, semi-circle! Can you find any objects of these colours or shape around your home or outside to bring in to our shape and colour tables
Mrs Kennedy planted trees with the boys and girls. They had great fun and found out how to look after trees and why they are important for the environment.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
