Nouns and adjectives: Worksheet one.

Remember, a noun is a naming word, and adjective describes a noun. The kind boy helped the old lady across the busy road. Boy lady and road are all nouns. Kind, old and busy are all adjectives, or describing words.

Verbs: Worksheet two.

Remember, a verb is a doing word. It can be in the present, the past or the future tense. Next year, we will go on holiday. Will go is the verb, in the future tense. I run a mile everyday. Run is the verb in the present tense. I worked hard last week. Worked is the verb in the past tense.

Adverbs: worksheet three:

Remember an adverb describes a verb. It will add detail about how, when or where something happened. Many adverbs end in -ly.
The footballer ran swiftly down the wing and the midfielder passed the ball perfectly to him. Ran and passed are verbs. Swiftly and perfectly are adverbs.

Remember a conjunction is a joining word, that joins 2 sentences together, for example: and, but, so, or, at, yet, if , because. I like coffee, but my brother prefers tea. We couldn’t go outside because it was raining.
