September/October

Welcome to Nursery!

September is a very busy month as we welcome everyone to Nursery! As a staff, we are enjoying getting to know all of the boys and girls! The boys and girls are learning our Nursery routines, rules and learning through their play. They are all doing so well!

Our topic this month is ‘All About Me’! We will be talking about our bodies; learning the names of different parts of the body and their functions, through our stories, Community Time discussions, songs, rhymes and art activities. We will also be discussing emotions, in particular, what makes us feel happy and sad.

We hope that you enjoy looking through these photos to see a little of what we do in Nursery!

We are learning through our play both indoors and outdoors!

We are learning to mark make, draw, stick, and paint to make beautiful pictures!

🌷 We have been making the most of the sunny weather this week by planting new plants and bulbs in our Nursery garden and flower pots!

👨‍🌾 The boys and girls have enjoyed digging, planting, weeding and watering!

The boys and girls are learning to walk in a line and they did so well walking behind one another and listening to the adults!

We all enjoyed doing a warm up on the MUGA pitch and then had lots of fun playing the bean game together, before taking part in some running races!

Well done everyone!

October

Throughout this month, we will be exploring the new season of Autumn!

We will be learning about Autumn through our play; both indoors and outdoors, through our Community Time learning including our stories, songs and rhymes, and discussions, as well as from our visit from Jen and Jo Jingles!

All of the children will be given opportunities to develop their gross motor skills, including pedalling on the trikes outdoors and putting on their coats independently, as well as their fine motor skills, including pre-writing and pre-cutting activities.

We will also be introducing the iPads and interactive boards and giving everyone the opportunity to develop their digital skills, as well as their mathematical skills, fine motor skills, drawing skills and language skills. A fun and busy month ahead!

We love the colours of Autumn!

We had lots of fun rocking and rolling conkers from side to side to make colourful pictures!

We practised our ‘beaky bird’ by tearing paper to make pumpkin collages!

We have enjoyed painting pumpkins and making beautiful autumn trees!

We are all enjoying drawing pictures of ourselves using the interactive board! The boys and girls are thinking, selecting and talking about the colours they are using and the different facial features they are drawing.

We are also developing our mathematical and listening skills by playing a maths app on the iPad!
