    Girls Hockey A Team Report
    Mid Ulster Tournament
On Friday 2nd February the Girls Hockey A Team travelled to Banbridge High School to play in the Mid Ulster Tournament. We played really well in our first 3 matches in the tournament, with great results in them all. We beat Hardy 3-0 with a hat trick from Chloe Gordon- well done Chloe! Our next match was against Carrick, which we won 1-0 (scored by Emma Latimer). Our third match was also a 1-0 win against Millington, with the goal coming from Chloe Gordon. After these 3 wins we progressed to the semi-finals, against Maralin. We showed really good passing and defence, narrowly missing the goals on a few occasions. Our goalie Tilly Douglas pulled off some amazing saves from the very strong Maralin attack – well done Tilly. We got a great goal from Emma Latimer, but then unfortunately conceded 2 goals in quick succession. The end result being 2-1. We had a great run, and these matches will set us up well for all the upcoming league fixtures. Well done girls.
Team- Tilly Douglas, Sophie Tate, Hannah Whaley, Martha McTernaghan, Haydn McKinley, Emma Latimer, Grace Cochrane, Alex Kerr and Chloe Gordon.

    League Match v Bocombra
On Monday 12th February we had a league fixture against Bocombra, at home. We started off a little shakey and quickly conceded a goal. After half time we came out and played a much stronger game, with good formation and possession. There was great passing from Hannah Whaley in defence through to the forwards, with a few nice touches from Emma Latimer and Martha McTernaghan. With this good play we got 3 quick goals, all scored by Chloe Gordon. Another hat trick… well done Chloe!

  • Cross Country Champions

    Wed 31 Jan 2018 K Martin

A huge round of applause to King's Park Girls' and Boys' Cross Country teams who were both   crowned Southern Area Champions once again. This is the Boys 4th Southern Area title in a row and the Girls third in a row. The Girls won every race in the league,  but the boys had to come from behind to fight off a stiff challenge to their crown from a very good Bocombra team.

The girls scored an amazing 30 points yesterday at Banbridge, 63 points ahead of their nearest rival. The boys,  who sat one point behind their nearest rival,  overturned this margin to run a comprehensive victory,  gaining 48 points to their rival's 79 points, a margin of 31 points.

It was a superb team effort in both cases but special mention has to go to Kate Holmes (P7) and Ellie Cousins (P6},  who came first and second respectively in the Girls' race and also to Joel Todd (P7),  who came second in the Boys' race.

Also looking to the future, mention must go to Leah Balfour and Alex Kerr (both P5),  who came first and second in the Fun Run.
