    INVITATION TO THE BOOK FAIR

Our local Travelling Book Company is visiting the school

from Wednesday 11th November until Tuesday 17th November

The Book Fair offers an inspirational and diverse selection of books for children, whatever their interests, helping to improve reading for all ages and abilities.  In addition, our school benefits from the fair with commission books for the library and classroom.

The children’s book leaflet shows a selection of titles available.

Each class will be timetabled to visit the Book Fair but parents are encouraged to view the books with their children.  The fair will be open each morning from 8.30 to 9.00 am and again in the afternoons from 3.00 to 3.45 pm. On Thursday 12th November school will be open from 6.30 to 7.45 pm for parents to visit the Book Fair with their children.

Only use the order form below if you can’t visit the Book Fair or if the book you want is out of stock when you visit the fair.  In this case please give the completed order form and money to your child’s teacher or the teacher on duty at the Book Fair. The money and order form should only be brought in to school during Book Fair week (11th- 17th November).

    Many thanks for your support!

    Yours sincerely,

    S. Magowan

Congratulations to  the King’s Park Boys’ and Girls’ Cross Country Teams who both ran out as clear winners at the Flavahans Porridge Primary Cross Country event at Palace Stables Armagh on 2nd December. Both the teams battled extremely well in very muddy conditions. A special mention has to go to  Dylan Alexander (P6) who won the Boys’ Race by a fair margin against a field of 174 Boys. Top placed girls were Emily Anderson and Megan Hampton (both P6) running in at 7th and 8th place out of 151 girls.   Both teams are now in a strong position to qualify for the Northern Ireland finals at Mallusk with one round to go.

To celebrate the Rugby World Cup we are having a Rugby World Cup Theme Day on Wednesday 14th October.

The canteen staff have kindly agreed to supply a “Rugby World Cup/Around the World” themed lunch on the same day.

Children are encouraged to wear sporting attire and particularly a T-Shirt with the colour of a country participating in the World Cup. (Rugby players can wear their rugby jumpers)

P4 – P7 children will be finding out information about countries around the world.  They will also be participating in some rugby based throwing and catching games on the MUGA pitch. (This will NOT be full contact rugby)

Lurgan College will be sending their Rugby Squad to King’s Park to help with the rugby based games.
