How do we know so much about the Egyptians?

Well we had first to work out what all the symbols on the walls meant!!

If you watch the clips below you will hear about a very important stone called THE ROSETTA STONE that was found in Egypt. Then a french man called Jean-Francois Champollion managed to unravel the meaning of the language of the ancient Egyptians by studying this stone.

We call this writing hieroglyphics.
