Art is used to develop a Nursery child's mark making skills, imagination, creativity and expands their knowledge of using a variety of media and materials. It is also a great tool for open ended questioning.
Art allows children to express themselves, their finished piece doesn’t have to look perfect but it’s their interpretation of what an object looks like through their own eyes! Art activities don’t have to be neat and precise. Adults may not be able to interpret what their child has created BUT, it is something the child has worked hard on, something that is unique and something to be celebrated! Don’t forget to praise your child’s work- as they create it, work hard on it and finish it!
