Pencil Grip!

 

Below you will find lots of informative resources to guide you and your child towards good pencil grip! The two images below are from the'King's Park Nursery Getting Ready to Learn' document you will have received from Nursery for home learning. This document is extremely informative for parents/carers.

 

Please remember to make activities short and enjoyable for your children, just like we would have done if we were in Nursery. Have fun!

Activities to promote tripod grasp:

 

  1. Leaf Tracing- Use the tripod fingers to hold a crayon down flat and rub colour all over a large area. You could go in different directions such as, up and down, around in circles and from side to side. 
  2. Paper crumpling- this is a great tripod finger strengthening activity to use with younger children. Use the fish template below alongside some tissue paper to create a wonderful picture!
  3. Paint with pom poms!
