Music with Mrs Myers

This term in Nursery we would be focusing on making our own instruments.

If you can, could you help your child make their own simple percussion instrument using junk materials and household items.

This can be a fun and creative activity for you and your child and the instruments can then be used to play along to a variety of songs and music!

You can create a shaker by adding dried pasta, rice or lentils to an empty water bottle.
Your child can decorate the bottle using tissue paper and stickers.

Another idea would be to make drums using upturned pots pans and colanders with wooden or plastic spoons. (This might get noisy!!)
You can help your child listen carefully to the different sound each one can make.

Please take photos of your child enjoying exploring lots of different home made sounds!
