This month in Nursery, we will be exploring the topics of Autumn and harvest time. We will learn about these topics through our community time learning, through our play and also from our Autumn Walk to Lurgan Park. Throughout October we will be learning to recognise and name the colour, orange, and the shape, rectangle.
We all enjoyed our Autumn walk around Lurgan Park. We found and collected lots of conkers from the horse chestnut trees, acorns from the oak trees, as well as beautiful autumn coloured leaves! We are looking forward to looking at and using what we found in different activities next week! We also saw lots of ducks, swans, 1 squirrel and lots of dogs! Thank you to all of our parents and grandparents who accompanied us on our walk. We hope you enjoyed it too!
We used the conkers we collected on our Autumn Walk to make abstract pieces of art! We dipped the conkers in to paint and then we had lots of fun rocking and rolling them over the paper!
We all enjoyed meeting Jo Jingles and Jennifer for the first time! We sang different songs about our bodies and we also were introduced to maracas. We enjoyed using them to make music! We can’t wait for Jo Jingles to visit Nursery again!
Sarah from Debutots visited us to tell us a very special story about Eleanor the elephant. First, we enjoyed taking part in an action song and then we enjoyed dancing and moving like different jungle animals. We also got to pop some bubbles from the bubble machine which was lots of fun! Next, we enjoyed listening to the story about Eleanor and then we helped Sarah to retell it afterwards using lots of different actions. From the story, we learnt how important it is to have listening ears! We then used our listening ears to listen to different everyday and animals sounds. We hope to have listening ears in Nursery for our teachers too!
