Ideas from part of our getting ready to learn programme
Make a cotton wool sheep
Go on a colour hunt with your child. Find any green items. Use your green page in your pack to set these items on.
Children in Nursery need to use and understand the mathematical language of full and empty. This could be displayed through a variety of play ideas such as filling and emptying buckets of water, sand or rice or filling a box with their toys and emptying it again. Around the home, you could use household items such as a washing basket and washing machine. When the clothes are up to the top of the basket, it is full, but when all of the clothes are taken out of the basket, it is empty. And again, before the clothes go into the washing machine, it is empty and when they are put inside, it is full.
