Mathematical Language

Big and Small

Children in Nursery need to use and understand the Mathematical language of big and small. This could be displayed through a variety of play ideas such as teddy bears, balls and lego. Around the home, you can use household items such as cups at the dinner table, chairs, cutlery or fruit and vegetables to talk about and understand the concept of big and small. Here is a website link that will take you to a video for Cbeebies ‘Something Special- We’re all friends: Big and Small’ that you can watch with your child/children at home. Remember to encourage your child/children to talk and ask questions about what they are learning.
