On Thursday 9th March the girls played a league match against Bocombra at home. We played really well and had a great 6-0 win. Goals came from Megan, Taylor, Chloe and Kate.
On 16th March we played another league match at home against Markethill PS. Again, the girls played some great flowing hockey, with great passing and positioning. We again came away with a 6-0 win. Goals in this match came from Taylor, Lucy, Catherine, Emily and Megan.
We narrowly missed out on the league play offs unfortunately, as we came away with 4 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss.
Next up was the NI Qualifying Tournament at Brownlow on 22nd March. We won our first 2 matches comfortably against Bocombra and Magherafelt. Next up was Armstrong. We started off really well and played some great attacking hockey, and narrowly missed the goals several times. We defended well, but unfortunately we conceded 2 goals in quick succession, and we simply ran out of time to score back. We were all very disappointed, and unfortunately didn’t then progress to the finals at Garvey. Armstrong went on to be runners up in the NI Finals, so we can be very proud of our efforts.
This team have played some great hockey, and have shown tremendous skill on many occasions this season. I would like to wish all the P7s the very best for their new schools, and make sure you continue playing hockey! Well done girls.
Team- Sophie Beattie, Lucy Latimer, Catherine Cowan, Taylor McKinley. Emily Alexander, Megan Hampton, Chloe Gordon and Kate Holmes

Congratulations to the Boys' and Girls' cross country teams who both became The Northern Ireland Champions at the Cross Country Finals!
The boys and girls are both the 2017 Northern Ireland Cross Country Champions. The boys won by a huge margin, which is likely a record, and the girls won by a convincing margin. A special mention has to go to Dylan Alexander who, having won all three events this year, ran in to third place overall in Northern Ireland. Best placed girl was Emily Anderson who came 14th overall in Northern Ireland.
The boys have won the Southern Area League for the past three years and have won each of their last 11 events, an unbeaten record stretching back three years. The Girls have won the Southern Area league for the last two years and have won their last 6 competitions.
Between them they have 4 Northern Ireland Titles in the last 5 years.
