  • BOYS' HOCKEY REPORT

    Wed 01 May 2019

On Tuesday 30th April, the Boys’ Hockey team played their Décor Trophy semi-final cup match against Armstrong Primary School.

In the first half of the game we played really well. Due to sustained pressure and good build-up play Harry produced a shot which resulted in a goal in the bottom left-hand corner. The steady performance of the defence and with the continued support of Charlie in goals, the team was able to keep a clean sheet in the first half. The score at half-time was one nil to KPS.

The second half got off to a fast-paced start with Armstrong pressing forward seeking an equalising goal. However, good team work and accurate passing by KPS created some pressure. A great run from defence resulted in a decisive midfield pass to Harry. He managed to beat the goalkeeper and score a second goal. This was the last play of the game, meaning we won 2-0.

The team was; Charlie Stone, Peter McClughan, Jack Cowan, Oliver Bingham, Harry Kerr, Daniel McClughan, Aaron Kinkead and Austen Gault

  • NI Futsal Finals - Boys Report

    Wed 01 May 2019

Congratulations to the boys futsal team who finished the Northern Ireland finals as semi-finalists against the overall winners St Bernard Primary.

    REPORT:

On Thursday the 11th of April the boys futsal team travelled to Antrim to compete in the Northern Ireland finals.

In our first game we played Ballymacash.

We started strong with jay and Lewis scoring our opening two goals, but shortly after Ballymacash brought it back to 2-2.A couple of minutes later Lewis scored another goal to bring the score to 3-2. Ballymacash scored another equaliser to make it level again. In the last minute Lewis scored to get his 3rd and secure us the win. The game ended 4-3.

In our second group game we played St Columba’s.

We knew St Columbus would be a tough game and we needed to play well. We scored our first goal early in the game to put us 1-0 up. We had a few more good chances but we just couldn’t score. Towards the end of the game Columbus scored a good goal to secure them a draw.

In our next game we played Lynn.

We had to beat lynn by two goals to get through to the knockouts. It took us quite a while to get our first goal after missing key chances, but eventually Lewis scored to put us 1-0 up. In the last kick of the game, Luke scored to win the game 2-0.

Because of the results we had to take Penalties to decide group.

We scored all our penalties and Harrison made a great save to win the shoot out. Which we won 4-3 against St Columba’s

This meant we progressed to the semi final, we played St. Bernard who went 3-0 up after some impressive futsal skills but we got it back to 3-2. They went 4-2 up, before we brought it back to 4-3 for a tight finish but unfortunately we lost.

St Bernard went onto the final and won the Cup with a 3-0 win.

That was our final futsal game of the year, we were undefeated in our Area and all the way through the Northern Ireland finals up until the semi final loss.

The team who travelled was Luke, Harrison, Harry, Alex, Lewis, Dylan, Jay and myself.
