  • Disruption to traffic

    Fri 06 Jan 2017

KING’S PARK PRIMARY AND NURSERY SCHOOL

Notice of possible disruption to traffic at Avenue Road and Flush Place- January 2017

    To: Parent/Guardians

    AVENUE ROAD

Howard Abraham Motors wish to provide you with advance notice of the demolition of properties numbers 55-63 Avenue Road, located at the old optical factory gates. For a short period only, from Mon 9th to Wed 11th Jan during the hours of 7:00pm onwards, contractors will undertake demolition of the main structural aspects of these properties. During these hours the works area will be illuminated and heavy plant machinery will be in operation. This may be audibly disruptive.

The Avenue Road will operate on single lane traffic control for a short section directly in front of the works area during these times. These works actions are in place to ensure the utmost public safety and that of particular consideration to the close proximity of the works to a major Primary School. From Thurs 12th Jan onwards clearing of the works site will continue during normal daylight hours with no pedestrian access directly in front of the demolition area. We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause for this short period of time.

    FLUSH PLACE

Flush Place will be closed to traffic from 10-13 January.  There will be access to the Jethro Centre only from the Avenue Road direction on those dates.  This road closure is likely to result in delays for motorists in the area and in particular for those travelling into Lurgan along Avenue Road, Banbridge Road and Gilford Road and it would be advisable to leave additional time for your journey during this period and throughout the duration of the works. Parents and pupils walking to school are advised to follow the advisory signage provided.
